Reminder: Ground School Information Session Tonight
Good evening all,
This is to remind everyone interested in Ground School and taking the glider/pilot exam.
Here is the link and Zoom Meeting information for tonight's session:
Topic: 220 Ground School Brief
Time: Sep 30, 2020 07:00 PM Central Time (US and Canada)
Meeting ID: 837 472 9214
The call tonight is anticipated to be 45 minutes or shorter, with the remaining time reserved for questions and necessary discussion from the cadets.
More information and clarity will be provided, but Ground School will be offered virtually this training year with Zoom Sessions scheduled every Wednesday evening from 19h00 - 21h00. Zoom links will also be provided to participants every week.
The plan is also to do reviews every second weekend. They can be coordinated around which day works best for everyone. If at any point extra review sessions are required, they can be scheduled as needed. There is also a desire to keep a balance and not overwhelm anyone with what limited free time is available.
As the first weekend after the first class on 7 October is Thanksgiving, it is proposed the first review be Sunday 18 October in the afternoon. It is likely that this will be discussed also in tonight's call to finalize the plan and ensure it does not encroach on anyone's family plans.
Candidates should treat the exam and their studies with the anticipation/expectation that 90% is the minimum pass mark; marks lower than that will most likely not find themselves competitive for the selection boards and we should endeavor to set realistic expectations from the outset. Attendance will be taken each night to allow you as CO’s to make an informed decision about who to nominate for the exam once the time comes. Included in the course/training will be the plan to do practice exams as well.
The reminder for tonight's Zoom session as well as a sign up sheet for interested cadets has also been posted on Google Classrooms by FSgt Luquer. We hope many eligible cadets seize this opportunity for growth through this activity.
